Horsechestnut is an extract from the seed of the Aesculus hippocastanum tree with a long history of use in Europe.* The shell is a green, spiky capsule containing one (rarely two or three) nut-like seeds called conkers or horse-chestnuts. Aescin, a mixture of αand β saponin triterpenes, is considered the major bio-active component of Horse chestnut.* It is often used to help maintain the strength and tone of veins.*
